This module will teach you the most important aspects of a range of data collection methods, for example for visitor research, and will prepare you for developing and implementing your own research concepts and evaluating their findings.
Course content
- Logic and principles of empirical social research
- Approaches, methods and instruments in empirical social research
- Data collection in quantitative and qualitative research
- Data preparation and analysis in quantitative and qualitative research
Course structure:
The module lasts 6 weeks and is divided into 3-4 phases. During each phase, you can decide when to prepare and review the content by working through the course material and tasks. There is usually one webinar in each phase, scheduled according to the students' time zones. These are the only fixed dates. Since the course is revised before it begins, the exact dates cannot be communicated beforehand. We calculate a weekly workload of 21 hours. Of course, this may vary depending on personal circumstances. The portfolio exam must be handed in at the end of the course.
